Jimmy Pardo stops by this episode of Alison Rosen Is Your New Best Friend to talk about Never Not Funny, hating women for four years, doing theater in high school, high school reunions and what he was expecting versus what he found, using charm to avoid getting beat up, therapy, allergies, OCD, being on the receiving end of the Heimlich, affect vs. effect, the death of his brother-in-law Andrew Koenig and so much more. Plus we took your questions over twitter and did a round of Just Me Or Everyone.

“…what I remember is my dad hindlicking me and the discomfort of a fist…”

Get that drop. Alison is gunning for that biscuit spot.

Loved this guest and your conversation with him! He seamed very honest, funny, entertaining and like-able.

You 100% still have leftover Carolla followers who pop up infrequently.

For example, there was a recent pic of your dog that you posted on Facebook. Some of them may have thought she was in a restaurant and not a hotel room, and the comments followed predictably.

I think Jimmy was absolutely right about who the people were that were being jerks on Twitter about him when you asked for questions. They wanted to attempt to undermine/embarrass you “in front” of somebody big on the comedy scene/entertainment business, because you're the “bad guy”, as Jimmy put it, in their Carolla world. I've noticed an increase of the idiotic tweets particularly when you have somebody of some notoriety on your show. I remember it happening when you had Kasey Wilson on your show soon after the Carolla incident. Even if somebody doesn't listen to his podcast, anyone who listens to these kinds of podcasts, that often interviews comedians, would at least have heard of Jimmy Pardo. I was the one who wondered on Twitter if what seemed like jerkiness was an inside joke that I didn't know about, because it's what ended up being the case with the Crabfeast with their “F*** the Crabfeast” tagline/joke that people were saying after you posted about being on their show. Jimmy is right that if you're not a jerk and you don't know who somebody is that's being announced as a guest on a show, you just Google the person! Knowing when to use affect and effect is the bane of my existence! Even with the verb-noun explanation, I still can't remember which to use most of the time. This episode took an unexpected meaningful turn with Jimmy discussing his brother-in-law's suicide. As somebody who has had somebody close to me take her life, I appreciated his thoughts on the subject.
