Here I am in the green room before Red Eye

Here  I am in another green room during the taping of  Red Eye when Dr. Baden was doing his segment and they were all, “Hey Alison, get the hell out of here.” “Fine,” I replied ruefully. “I’ll go take a photo of myself in the green room.” Then I cursed them mightily up and down. They were none the wiser.

And then after the show I was going to go home but next thing I knew I was at a party. Here’s Laura Leu.

And here’s Lauren Sivan.

And then here I am behind but also next to Bill Schulz.

Ooh look, an accordion which to feature prominently in an upcoming segment on my Ustream show when aforementioned Laura Leu who plays a mean squeezebox gives me a lesson!

And then here’s one of my new plants which still needs a name.

    Love, love, love the pictures!!!

Great job on Red Eye, Alison! You were fantastic as always. You did a nice tease at the end for your Ustream show. Now we know you have Courtney Cummz scheduled for an upcoming broadcast. That will really be interesting — I'm sure it will pull in TONS of viewers. Fun fun fun!!

You guys talked about the Massachuetts Senate race last night — I can't wait to see what happens on Tuesday. Other than a Presidential election, I can't think of any other election in recent history that will have as much of an impact on the country. If Brown wins, it will break the Democrats' super majority in Congress and, therefore, could effect a major piece of legislation (healthcare). I could also have an impact on Obama's agenda for the next few years, the elections next November and possibly the elections in 2012. Incredible. I really think this is an historical election. The pundits will be talking about it and debating it for weeks, possibly months.

Yes, Alison was perfection on Red Eye. Andy Levy is now my new 2nd best friend for bringing up the Ustream show that everyone should be watching: Alison Rosen Is Your New Best Friend!!!

I had more specifics before I got a good night's sleep, but somehow they've disappeared from my brain overnight. So much for the benefit of a good night's sleep!

Joe, I think your analysis is right, although your last sentence cracked me up. Pundits talk about EVERYTHING for weeks and months!

Love, love, love the pictures!!! I hope Lauren Sivan is doing well. We miss seeing her on Fox. She would be a good guest for a future Ustream show, Alison.

This month Maxim has two pages of “31 Things You Absolutely Did Not Need to Know” — a collection of quotes from celebrity autobiographies. They're all pretty funny, but there was one in particular that stood out. From “Our Story” by the Olsen twins:

“What happens when we both want to wear the same thing on the same day? We talk it over and then we usually decide to take turns. Mary-Kate will wear something one time, and I'll wear it the next time. Having a twin keeps us grounded.”

    Tissue anyone?

And the clever-play-on-words award goes to Marilu Henner: “When it comes to sex, it doesn't even matter if I feel fat or depressed. There's always room for Jell-O. And that 'headache' excuse? Bogus… I'd much rather treat a headache with a bare ass than a Bayer aspirin any day.”

I suddenly have an urge to gouge my eyes out.

I don't know if this will be helpful, but maybe this is a good time to revisit Alison Rosen t-shirts and such. It would certainly be amusing to see them plugged them on the ustream show. Sounds like a job for Joe.

Personally, I would have felt odd wearing a strictly http://www.alisonrosen.com shirt, but I would be delighted to walk around with a shirt that read, “Alison Rosen is my new best friend!” I don't know the costs, but if enough of us will commit to them up front, it might cover the initial investment.

You've read my mind! I've been thinking now would be a good time to revisit. Let's discuss this here. What does everyone think?

  18. Ted_Goodlove January 17, 2010 at 11:29 pm #

Honestly, I would tattoo “Alison Rosen is my New Best Friend” on my ass if it helps promote you (Note – it would be small font…ass not that big)….but where on earth can I wear clothing that says it? At the races, fights, exercising!?!??! Help me out here guys….but how about a coffee mug, Alison Rosen bedroom sheets (Cal King), or possibly a calendar.

Hey wait, the Calendar idea is actually brilliant (everyone thank Ted)…hmmm, an Alison Rosen Calendar with high resolution photos, personally autographed, funny little RosenQuotes throughout…what a great promotional idea, you could link it on your Ustream & Blog….pitch it on Red Eye….damn I'm smart! XOXOXOXOX

$25.00 per calendar X 4,337 twitter followers….I'm no genius but I think that is a lot of money!

How about an Alison Rosen-Courtney Cummz calendar? Ha ha… now THAT would be interesting!

I think some A-Pop gear would be great. I'd love to have my first cup of coffee in the morning and be reminded that “Alison Rosen Is Your New Best Friend”.

Maybe you can try a couple of items and see what happens.

  23. TrappDog January 18, 2010 at 7:40 am #

I like the idea of a coffee cup reminding you that Alison is your best friend, although I prefer to have a shirt claiming that she's my best friend so that others will be jealous.

Ted, forget about the sheets unless you want to break up with another girlfriend real quick!

I think anything inexpensive is best. Cheaper to produce, less risk involved.

  24. alisonrosen January 18, 2010 at 7:45 am #

Do you guys know of places that manufacture this stuff affordably? I know there's cafe press but I think that's not cost efficient. But obviously I don't want to put my name on utter crap either!

Try doing a Google search for Promotional Gifts. There are hundreds of companies that make those kinds of things. Here's one I found that's located in New York: http://www.empirepromos.com/

You can search specifically for shirts, mugs, pens or other items. The company where I used to work ordered promotional items all the time, but I don't know what company they used.

I think developing your logo first will be the big thing, unless you want to pay for that service. It's true that there are tons of businesses that do this. Maybe you'll get a better price outside NYC. Certainly it will cost more for better quality merchandise. Once the logo is ready, I guess it's a matter of asking friends and shopping around.
