Awesome episode! I think David Wild should have his own podcast. Super interesting and entertaining.

I think that Just me or Everyone should be reserved for the Thursday crew only. I like the interviews a lot and feel that more time spent interviewing would be better.

I loved Benson. Benson was the #1 show in my house and Mr. Belvedere was #2.

In re: David talking about “not being a good journalist” or whatever: My rule is never be ashamed when your humanity wins out. I was told for years that I was “too nice” to be in the field I was in and I was silly enough to feel BAD about that. That is pure nuttery. If you're too nice to be an xyz, then that is just a sign to go in a different direction. Like with David, it might just be a slightly different direction (from journalist interviewing a star to a writer collaborating with stars and TV producers). Listen to your gut, people 🙂 Be a good human – that is what matters. Live your values.

Also, I'm on Team Alison in regards to subtitles.

Oh Hay ! this is a fantastic pod. I always love David Wild on ACP but I often cringe when the typical harsh banter goes over the line between tension that provides entertainment and just plain old mean – David isn't the only one who gets this “treatment” Dr Bruce, Dr Drew and pretty much the whole ARIYNBF gang save Jenna get it and deal with it with amazing elan – sorry sometimes the French have the better words about the human spirit. . David has such respect and dignity towards anyone he is working with, writing about, producing for etc. Alison does a fantastic job when she is dealing with “genuine” people – many interviewers get uncomfortable around sincere and unfiltered emotion. She did the same fantastic job with Fitzdog who despite the NY crust he sometimes uses as a barrier while he decides how real the person in front of him is willing to be, he WILL give an unfiltered response if you will too. Anyway – I agree with the previous comment that David would make a great pod caster. He has a lot of fascinating experiences with music legends but he has the ability to tell the stories without even a whiff of tabloid exploitation. He frames the stories in a way that makes those “legends” seem human and triumphant rather than pathetic victims of the music machine. Anyway – Alison, great job and David you really should consider the pod world.

This was hands down the best episode you've done yet. Alison, you asked some great questions and Wild was (no surprise here) a fantastic guest. Great job all around.
