One of the best Thursday pods of 2013 right here. Seriously, Chris is so funny he needs his own special episode day. Wednesdays All About Chris or something. MAKE IT HAPPEN.
Perhaps you guys don't understand the reaction to Beyonce's album because the album wasn't made with you in mind or by a person who shares a similar life experience as you. It was made by a Woman of Color who is hugely smart, beautiful, talented and a major role model to other Women of Color (of all ages, really). Everyone in the world generally recognizes that Beyonce is smart, beautiful, talented and all around wonderful. This is a huge deal for People of Color and especially Women of Color. Who else can one name that is as universally loved and recognized for greatness as Beyonce and is also a Woman of Color? Not many, and mostly for really dumb reasons. Further, her message to Women of Color is “YOU MATTER”. How awesome is that? That is something to be very excited about. She is a beacon to people who continue to be systematically and institutionally oppressed, marginalized, fetishsized, treated like shit by the majority, (and more – I could go on) in this country and the world. So praise be to Queen Bey. I think she is awesome and the reaction to her album is a wonderful celebration.
