What I would yell if I were yelling something

Today is one of those days (and there’s nothing specific about today) where all the little petty disappointments and annoyances and rejections or rejection-seeming things that pile up in the course of a life but especially one in the industry I’m in just seem especially intolerable and I’m filled with this angsty/cranky/temper-tantrumy desire to yell at the top of my lungs, “I’m important, dammit!”

And normally I wouldn’t admit to something so vulgar however I’m pretty sure everyone feels it from time to time. And the weird thing is it’s not being triggered by anything really and even the knowledge that Jersey Shore is on tonight isn’t snapping me out of it which means it’s pretty serious.

In other news, there are about a zillion blog posts building up inside me causing immense blog pressure and I might have to have this blog lanced.

I DO feel that way; it’s like we share a telepahic link or something; however, I usually feel the way, you so deftly described, most of the time. : )

I think I’m just going to change the name of my show to “Alison Rosen Is Important, Dammit.”

You’re right, Alison. Many times I feel the same.

It may be that the planets are out of alignment or something as equally universal, but your day described in this post is simpatico to mine, save the being important part.
Maybe it’s the karma that all has been going far too well lately. Anyway, for what it’s worth, I hope it turns around for you. The world can’t deny the importance that is Alison Rosen for more than one day! Seriously.

Look we know you are talented. You know you are talented. You just gotta keep plugging away and let the rest of the world catch up! There is something very special about you Ali, and someday very soon someone more important than me, someone that can do something for your career will think so too. I’ll keep watching and I will be very happy when that day comes, because from there on out I’ll be one of those that says “Oh yeah, I used to watch Alison Rosen on her ustream show and she spoke directly to me on a weekly basis.” They’ll think I’m just old and delusional but I won’t care.

    Enjoy the struggle Ali Ro!

Enjoy the struggle. That’s very sage actually.

Dammit, Indeed. Then I’m going to have to buy myself the ARIID tshirt. At least my other two will be rare limited editions. Better start talking to Mr. Rapp also. Going to need a few new songs.

In all seriousness, I would much prefer to struggle through life doing something I love, then to be paid well for something I hate. Do I think the world would be a better place for knowing me, sure do. But I’m okay with touching the lives of only a small handful of people. As long as it’s by doing what I love to do. What I was born to do.
