I had a busy weekend

Look how weird this is! We’re both making the same expression! We’re expression twins! So anyway, I had a pretty packed weekend of talking about myself on the radio and on a podcast. You’re welcome, America. [UPDATE: I just agreed to be part of Fox Sports radio’s TV THEME SONG tournament for the next 5 weeks so cancel all your Saturday noon plans. DO IT. CANCEL THEM! Round 1 of the tournament is what you’ll hear if you click on the radio interview I linked to above.]

But as for this Jake Tuber podcast character pictured above, I forget how I heard of him but basically he started contacting me on Twitter and told me I’d been the inspiration for his starting his own Ustream show and I asked my assistants to get rid of him but then I realized I didn’t have assistants and then I agreed to let him interview me since it’s the least I can do, being his hero and all.

Also this weekend I went out with Koryn and we were sitting there and she said, in a general effort to get me to be more social, “You spend so much time on your hair, don’t you want people to see it?” And honestly what I was thinking was that I really don’t spend SOOOOO much time on my hair. Anymore.

And then last night Dustin and I got our asses handed to us at pub trivia which was just so much BS.

Also, I think I’m going to do something magnificent soon where I live stream briefly every day of the week on a different live streaming site in an effort to test all the sites and also to give the people what they want: a heapload of me. So I’m compiling a list of the sites I should try. Let me know if you have any recommendations. And then tell everyone you know to follow me around the internet!

Also, you know how I’m trying to hook up an external monitor? I have this little flat screen TV which has an S video input and my MacBook has a mini DVI port so can I just go MINI DVI to DVI to S VIDEO? I realize some people may have already answered this but I’m confused about whether it will work.

Oh and lately I’ve been feeling a little like one of those sad blobs in the Prozac commercials which is possibly because my bday is coming up next month and I tend to get a little mopey around my bday every year which is very cliche, I know.

And RSVP for this week’s show and become a fan on FB! and follow me on DailyBooth even though I haven’t done much over there yet!

And have you pre-ordered a tshirt or a shoutout? Get on that! (you know, if you want)

“Alison Rosen Is Your New Best Friend” is live on Ustream every Wednesday night. www.ustream.com/alisonrosen

Alison, I like what I’m hearing! You’re a busy bee lately, and now we can get more of you on other streams? Wow. Another bday soon is exciting, and it will be grand I’m sure despite the usual bday blues. When I have time, I’ll post about how I came to follow you, pics of where I watch, and most importantly, how actual ducklings play into it all. That will have to wait until my next post, so watch for it, it’ll be fascinating. Peace

Woo hoo — Fox Sports Radio. Nice!

Don’t sweat the birthday, we’ll help you get through it. It’s just another day.

    I just did a quick search for streaming sites and found: livestream.com, nowlive.com, stickam.com, justin.tv, blogtalkradio.com, kyte.tv, mogulus.com, operator11.com, floobs.com, youcams.com, channelme.tv, magnify.net, BlogTV.com, talkshoe.com, qik.com, ovguide.com

Not sure if they’ll all do exactly what you want.

S-Video doesn’t support high resolution like your monitor does. While it may be possible to get a picture using mini DVI to S-Video, it will be low resolution. Video and pictures may look OK, but text, especially small text, will be blurry and very hard to read. Take a look at craigslist. A used 17″ LCD can usually be had for ~$50. Then you would just need a mini DVI to VGA/DVI adapter.

Ducklings! OK I’ll try not to be verbose. I moved from Hollywood, CA to Coeur d’Alene, ID for work in Feb 2009. My company put me into a condo right on the Spokane River, and the view from the balcony is phenomenal. There are always ducks, geese, and various other waterfowl populating the river, and I’ve become somewhat of an expert on ducklings over the year since I would see them every day! I even put a couple pics on my facebook page back then. I often wondered what significance ducklings would play in my life moving forward, and then I stumbled upon your ARIYNBF link. MYSTERY SOLVED! You not only entertain, but inspire. Thanks for that! I’ve seen you on Red Eye several times and thought you are great, but I had no idea how great until I watched your show. I’ll post pics of where I watch once I’m done moving to Spokane this week. I’ve got my pencil, and I’m ready to dance!

You can go from your MBP DVI to your TV with this adapter…
