Matt Logelin

Matt Logelin and his wife Liz were high school sweethearts. They bought a house, she got pregnant with their first child and they planned to live happily ever after. The pregnancy was complicated but their daughter was born and she was healthy. But then 27 hours after giving birth, as she was getting ready to meet the baby she hadn’t yet held, Liz died of a pulmonary embolism. This is the subject of Matt’s memoir, Two Kisses for Maddy, which has been turned into Fatherhood, the number one Netflix movie at the time this episode airs. Kevin Hart plays Matt. Obama has tweeted about the movie. (His production company helped bring it to the screen.) Matt stopped by the show to talk about the differences between the movie and real life, his mixed feelings about writing the book, the process of turning the book into a movie, grief, the Liz Logelin Foundation, falling in love again (he is married to Bob’s Burgers writer, Great North co-creator and ARIYNBF guest Lizzie Molyneux), whether Tony seems violent, the odd life of a successful blogger, guesting on Oprah and Rachael Ray and so much more.
