puppies, cash, two weeks notice

The following was sent to the staff to announce my decision to go freelance. Now there’s actually a voice in my head telling me not to post an internal memo, but this one is so nice that I’d like to tattoo it on a butt cheek, except then I’d have trouble reading it:

“After 3+ glorious years providing TONY with one of its more distinct and stylish voices, in everything from music reviews to Ed Koch exposés, Alison Rosen is moving on. She’s jumping into the freelance waters and will remain actively involved as a contributor to TONY, but we’ll miss her breezy way with words, quick wit, and masochistic eagerness to get up at 5am every Saturday morning to do TV for TONY. Her last day is 1/31. Please join me in wishing her well and demanding that she not lose touch.”

So, you’re likely wondering why I’m doing this and what I’m doing next. I will keep you posted.

If anyone would like to give me a mountain of cash and a puppy, I would entertain that offer.

Um, so like you realize when I made that post that your boss should be kissing your ass for returning that it was just a joke right? Holy crap, I leave the blog unattended for a few hours and return to this?

You fucking rock! I love it! You just took another step down the path less traveled. The mere thought of getting up at 5am for any job makes me want to gag. You are such a talented writer, I know big things are on your horizon!

Could you have that tattoo put on during an episode of LA Ink? I’m just asking…

Good luck on the move to a more independent lifestyle of not working for the man. Although, I believe you will still be, but just not on a regular basis. Me, I can’t get away from it. As for the cash and the puppy, I guess as Greg would say, just meet me in Bryant park and we can work out the details. Again, good luck, and butter your toast.

Oh you little minx. What have you done? You have taken a giant step toward becoming the media go to person for comment and info with great humor, class and intelligence. Please keep us posted and know that your success is linked to your exposure, so take all of those Red Eye gigs and anything else that shows what you are. The most beautiful, bright and ballsy personality out there today. Good luck, and I can’t wait for whats next.
    Love,
    Richie

Need some funny on a Sunday?

For anyone who remembers the TV series Moonlighting (one of my favorites) with Bruce Willis and Cybil Shepard, they had a great blooper episode. I found these links to it on YouTube:
    Part 1: tinyurl.com/2xvqdb
    Part 2: tinyurl.com/22mawf

They also had the greatest theme song.
    Watch it here: tinyurl.com/23btnf

    Enjoy!!
