The Daily Alison (Where John DeVore stares at blank walls)

You can read John’s Mind of Man column every Wednesday on TheFrisky.com.

But let’s talk about the crazy edits that you may have seen in the above video if you were watching it with your eyes. What a fucking nightmare hatchet job that was, right? In addition to firing my prop guy and makeup person and producer, I’m totally shitcanning my editor. Then I’m firing whoever’s in charge of censoring the foul language around here because they’re letting some doozies through. But what happened was I messed up the time count and then I had about twelve minutes of footage and so I had to shave off about a minute and a half (apparently I can upload a little over ten mins on youtube) and then all hell broke loose. I wasn’t just out of breath because a shark was chasing me. I was out of breath because I blew up all those inflatable things that were dangling off my body. I have half a mind to put the parts I cut out back in and just cut this into two clips but that will take forever and it’s onward and upward for me. No looking back. I only have eyes for tomorrow. And I’m lazy.

Hmm, tough call on getting involved in foreign politics. I mean, you sure don't want to isolate any of your viewers who are dedicated to the Iranian revolution, right?.

The tricky thing is to put forth a viewpoint that is more nuanced and informed than what's on the cable talking heads…but, not so dismissive or out-there that it seems like intentional facetiousness. (I should take my own advise)

Then it comes down to knowing the whole story, I'm no expert, but I've heard that an entire generation of men was wiped out in the Iran-Iraq war, where after they ran out of weapons, young boys from Iran were sent into the battlefield with nothing more than a copy of the Koran…hoping that the enemy would run out of bullets loaded in their automatic rifles.

Their economic and social problems still all stem from their loss of this generation of 'martyrs'.

Hawks in America brag about how we sold weapons to both sides during that war….

HBO currently has 2 good documentaries on the situation, with a variety of viewpoints. One on Queen Farah filmed by an exiled communist from Iran, and another about the letters to the president.

But, Ali, when you think about holding your tongue…think about all those idiots out there who don't….

Bringing up politics is likely to get more comments on the blog, and discussions among fans. Which, means, they'll check your blog multiple times per day for replies…more pageviews, more $$$.

Check out Media watchdog Charlie Booker's criticism on his BBC Newswipe series. Careful what you say though, Deek Jackson might come after you. (Does any name inspire more visceral fear than Deek?)

Another awesome opening! That one definitely has to go on The Daily Alison demo reel. A great conversation with John, too.

It's a good thing I'm just your business manager and publicist – you fired everyone else. But this morning I have some really good news regarding your ratings. You now have more viewers than most of CNN in prime time, especially for “Campbell Brown: No Bias, No Bull, No Show.”

I liked the broken edits that completely ignored continuity. Kind of artsy. You should make it a regular part of The Daily Alison. It could be fun.

I'd like the record to show that I refrained from going with the obvious curtains matching the carpet joke. With my 40th year being marked this September I feel it's time to stop acting like I'm still in high school.

Great opening…..but my real question is…..why would a 20 something like Alison have that swim gear in her apartment in New York? I'm guessing it's a role playing thing! Very kinky Ro Ro!

I went to the Frisky.com and the first article is on Sperm and Fallopian Tube jewelry! LOL

John please do not fart during the “Daily Alison” – We have standards around here!

Should I be concerned that you own snorkeling gear? And in New York?

Video editing? Where is your vlogging integrity, Alison?!
