a disgusting question

Greeting blog readers. I turn to you because I’m in a pickle. Actually, I’m not personally but my parents are and since I’m still here I’m privy to the pickle: Tobey is eating his tobeys, if you know what I’m saying. What does it mean? I kind of think it’s something that’s aesthetically disgusting to humans but not to dogs, and so perhaps a bit of acceptance and vigilance is required, instead of training the dog not to do it since I think yelling NO at him when he’s just gone to the bathroom might send him confusing messages. Or maybe I’m thinking he’s more like a small child than a dog and so I’m off base? What would the dog whisperer do?

In other news, I went to an OC Weekly reunion last night.

ooooh your dog has cooties! I know it’s disgusting but actually happens frequently. Tobey will probably grow out of eating his tobey but until then try to discourage it (bad dog, etc.) it. I guess “shit happens” is in effect at the Rosen residence. If you recall my other post about giving him the best food possible…I still recommend it. Sometimes the dog might not be getting the nutritional value he needs so he will eat his feces. One of my Shepherds was drinking his own urine in the mornings…he grew out of it! Now that was just as gross to watch…trust me. The important question is…did anyone eat anything disgusting at the OC reunion?

Big UFC fight party tonight…I can’t wait! Dos Equis is on the house! woooohoooo!

Hey Ali, I did a little research and found this site. http://www.perfectpaws.com/copro.html

It pretty much says that it’s often normal for your puppies to eat their Green Day Dookie. (Actual Album title, from Green Day, you either get it or you don’t.) As I was saying, You can also buy stuff at the pet store that will deter puppies from enjoying their own Tobeys. So I don’t think their’s anything to be alarmed about, as far as health-wise. Man, for some reason I keep thinking of Scooby Snacks.

If that link doesn’t satisfy you, then you can go to ask.com like I did, and simply type in *How can I stop my dog from eating it’s own feces?* Then you’ll get a whole sleuth of info. So uh, good luck with alllll that!

    Alison,
    I have no advice.
But I don’t think I’ll ever eat a Toblerone again!

Well, so much for puppy breath. It’s pretty normal but disgusting never the less. Just make sure they don’t leave his tobey’s lying around and give him a Tic Tac if he does get a hold of one. Telling him bad dog won’t do a thing, dogs don’t know why you’re telling them they are bad.

Not sure what the Dog Whisperer would do but I wouldn’t kiss the dog for a while… at least no tongue.

Yes, that’s Daryl Hannah in the video…

    “Striking out?
    Well count me in
I’m gonna stand right by your side through thick or thin
    Ain’t no doubt
    Who’s gonna win
A walk through hell ain’t bad compared to where we’ve been”

    Wow..

Hahaha, that’s awesomely radical to the extreme. . . and not necessarily in the way you might expect.
